Conflict Zone Arts Asylum (CZAA) invites gifted, brave and compassionate artists from all disciplines to collaborate on a series of workshops that will shed new light on current socio-political and multicultural tensions, and explore conflicting energies.
CZAA is a ground-breaking global production network, which unites professional artists from conflict areas to collaborate on interdisciplinary projects that use the dialectic nature of conflict as fuel to create a new cultural heritage and promote excellence in the arts.
1) CZAA workshop: “Third Generation Berlin”: How do the events that took place between 1939 and 1945 affect the lives of the young generation of Germans, Israelis and Palestinians today?
2) CZAA workshop: “Welcome to Gerkuney!”: What is the future of the German state in the context of the cultural mixture with Turkish communities?
The workshops will take place throughout February at the Tacheles Art House.
CZAA projects have included collaborations with Complicité actor-director Kathryn Hunter; playwrights from London’s Soho Theatre, the Royal Court Theatre, and the National Theatre; the staging of Conflict Zone’s latest play, Closing Time, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2007; and the current making of a documentary about CZAA.
We invite you to meet the people behind the project and to be part of our Movie presentaion.
